DUELING CRITICS

thumbs up

"It may not be enjoyment in the classic moviegoing sense, but it's without question a compelling exercise in expert filmmaking, boosted by a fantastic performance by Ryan Reynolds."

- Bill Goodykoontz

thumbs down

"A horror movie with delusions of moral grandeur... Mr. Reynolds has never been a deep actor, and the emotional demands of his role are beyond his range. The crude screenplay does him no favors."

- Stephen Holden
